Devotion – Colossians 2

S – He erased the certificate of debt, with its obligations, that was against us and opposed to us, and has taken it away by nailing it to the cross. 15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and disgraced them publicly; he triumphed over them in him
 Col 2:14–15 CSB

O – The cross brought a two-fold victory.  Christ eliminated the debt of our sin by his crucified blood – paid in full.  He also conquered all the rulers and authorities in the spiritual realm so their powers are all subjected to His.  He beat them all.

A – We can walk in total victory today.  When we confess our sins and ask for forgiveness, Christ’s work on the cross pays the price.  When the enemy comes to “rob, kill, destroy, lie, condemn, bring fear and pride,” we have access to the power of God to defeat all of it.

R – Heavenly Father, thank you for the love you have for me.  So much, that Jesus would go to the cross for my sins and pay the price for them once and for all.  I invite you into today that I would live in a way that brings honor to You.  If I sin and fall short, I ask for your forgiveness.  Where the enemy comes to challenge my relationship with You, show me how to access the power you grant me to defeat him.  Thank you, God!
