S – For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
25 In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, and said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
1 Corinthians 11:23–26 CSB
O – Jesus gave his body as a sacrifice for us. He shed his blood to write the new covenant with God and forgive our sins. We must not forget this.
A – Communion is more than an act we do as believers. It is an experience with God that takes us to his love in action through Christ. It should “soften” us to realize that He loved us first before we even understood his love for us. It explains how we can be in a relationship with him now. It is humbling and full of hope.
R – Heavenly Father, all that is created is yours. You are worthy of the highest praise and honor. Thank you for Jesus going to the cross and shedding his blood so we can have a relationship with you. Thank you for demonstrating your love for us before we even knew we needed it. We choose you today in all things.
