S – But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. ¹² Fight the good fight of the faith.

1 Timothy 6:11–12 ESV

O –  Paul is speaking directly to Timothy now.  He is charging him to flee the things contained in the letter above and pursue the qualities of righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness and gentleness.  He reminded him that it will be a battle.

A – It is rare in life when we feel like we are “still.”  Usually we are moving from something or towards another.  The Christian walk is very much a battle.  With our own selfish nature, others trying to figure out their journey or the enemy throwing curveballs of temptation or accusation.  If we pursue the things listed above, our battle will be won as we become more like Christ.

R – Heavenly Father, you are holy and righteous.  Empower as we prepare to go into a fight today.  Help us to embody each of these qualities in our lives.  We want to know you more so we can share your love with others.
