Devotion – I Timothy 2

S – First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity

1 Timothy 2:1–2 CSB

O – “Kings and those in authority” – We should pray and be grateful for those who are in civil leadership over us.  We should pray for their salvation and ability to do their job.  This principle carries over to all leadership.

A – I recognize the fallibility of man.  Yesterday, Paul said he was the chief among sinners.  We are all broken and in our own journey in our relationship with Christ.  This makes sense that we should lift up those making decisions and strategies that affect us.

R – Lord, help me to do this.
